Special Education
Resource Specialist Program
The Resource Specialist Program (RSP) at Cesar E. Middle School is a collaborative model. All students in RSP who have an Individual Education Plan will be enrolled in regular general education classes. The special education staff will follow a Lead and Support model of instruction delivery.
Lead and Support Instruction Model:
The Content Area teacher is primarily responsible for planning a unit of instruction and delivery of lessons. The special education staff shares in the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of curriculum.
Student Benefits:
- Inclusive settings in the education classroom offers students an opportunity to feel less stigmatized.
- General education placements are grade and age appropriate.
- Progressing in general education curriculum would ensure that students with exceptionalities are challenged by high standards.
